Success Stories: 2006

I was determined to get her attention.

I think I must have quit and re-joined LDSmingle 4 or 5 times. I had a few bad experiences in meeting people on the site, but every time I quit, I felt the overwhelming need to return because I had a feeling I was going to meet my future wife online. Early this year I saw the profile of one of the most beautiful Asian girls I have ever seen on your site. I sent her a smile and waited to hear back from her with great anticipation. I guess she was getting a lot of smiles because I didn't hear from her right away. Every week for a few weeks I would send her another smile hoping that I would stand out from the other hundreds of guys I imagined were smiling at her too. I was determined to get her attention, even if it was just her telling me to quit smiling at her...haha. She finally emailed me on the 5th of May, 2006, and said that she would love to chat with me sometime. Since that day, we have spent many hours chatting online with messenger and web cams, and talking on the phone. Just a few weeks ago I left Canada and literally traveled halfway around the world to see her in the Philippines where I found out she is even more beautiful in person. Near the end of my trip I proposed to her at the Manila temple, and thankfully for me...she said 'YES'! Now we are planning to be married in the Manila temple May 5th, 2007, exactly one year from the day she first emailed me. I can't thank you enough for having such a wonderful website for single members of the church to be able to meet each other. I thought I would have to get to heaven first before I would be able to meet an angel, but you helped me to meet one online.

Thank you,

Chris Holt

We are now engaged

I will give a quick success story that you might interesting. Me (Goinmad4U) and Lacey (shoe8523) met on here in November of last year and we are now engaged and waiting to go through the Temple to be sealed. Waiting is rough- but I know that it will be worth it. I think that you should consider looking into our story a little more and how unlikely a match at first glance we would be. But I had a 100% match on the site with her.....Thanks!

**Updated Sept 26 2006**

I will tell you exactly how this happened.I had just recently joined LDS Mingle and still did not have a photo posted. One afternoon Lacey(shoe8523) IM'd me and talked fo an hour or so and got to know each other really well. The next day we talked again and wehn we had to seperate she gave me her phone #, I thought this was great but remember she had never seen me so she had no idea if I was who I said I was. I asked her if she worried about giving me her phone because I could be some sort of pyscho. She told me that she felt really good about it.
We set up a time to meet and go to a Christmas dinner for my ward. We left early and sat in her van and talked about stuff important to ourselves and listened to music in the parking lot of the train depot overlooking a beautiful night over Downtown Boise, it was incredible. We did this sort of thing for quite a while. We would open up to each other, we would laugh and then we cry and then we would hold each other.
A little while later I presented her with a promise ring, a promise to not do anything in the nature that her ex did and that I would always be there for her, cause' I loved her.
A while went by and I was introduced to her three great children. I have since established and indiviual relationship with all of them. I did not ever think that I would be this happy and fullfilled by a situation like this. Some time went by and after lots of talk of marriage between us and everyone else, I decided to ask her the BIG question. I had her 5yr. old daughter Clarrissa come with to pick up the ring and asked her if she could do me a favor. Since Rissa said numerous times we should marry, I asked if she would give her mother the ring and ask if she would marry me, happily she said ''yes''.
Of course we are not living together but are doing the closest thing to it. I love this woman with all of my heart and soul and she loves me the same.
If it wasn't for Mingle and the Iming and the cute ways to smile and send cards and read profile we'd have never met.
Thank you so much Mike and Lacey

I was persistent

I first met Chelseygirl on-line July 10th of 2006. She was very reluctant to engage in a relationship because she lived in Washington state and I lived in California. I was persistent and after several e-mail contacts we were speaking via telephone every night. After spending a week in Washington together we knew we wanted to be together forever. On Tuesday August 29th 2006, Chelseygirl flew into McCaran airport, Las Vegas, Nevada. I proposed to her before a crowd of cheering onlookers. We were married in The Chapel of Dreams. We plan to live out our years in the "Land of Evergreens", in Washington State. Thank you for providing a vehicle to meet the girl of my dreams. To all of you out there still not give up...your potential companion is just a click away...good luck...Harleyman2000 and Chelseygirl

We plan to get married within the year.

I met my sweet Abigail after being on this site for only 10 days. We have so much in common. We talk nearly everday and see each other when we can. We plan to get married within the year. We would not have met if it weren't for lsdmingle! Thank You!

**UPDATED Feb 24, 2007**
I started on ldsmingle in August of 2006. I had just gone through a divorce and needed to start dating again. My sister found a cute girl on this site and and I sent her a smile and a card. Before long, we were talking on the phone and planning on meeting. I was living in Idaho and she was in Wyoming. We are engaged and planning a summer wedding (2007) We are made for each other in every way and are so glad we finally found each other!!

They are perfect for each other.

When Monkeys and Ashowee met here on LDS Mingle, it was like fate! They chatted online and when they finally got the courage to call each other, they knew that something special was about to happen. From then on, they were inseparable. Ashowee is a great girl, and she found her Prince Charming here on mingle. They finally took the plunge to meet in May of this year and had a great visit. They both knew that they were meant to be together and Monkeys made plans to move closer to Ashowee. Monkeys finally proposed at the end of June (on Ashowee's birthday, how cute is that?) and the happy couple was married in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple for time and all eternity on September 8th, 2006. Thank you mingle for helping this wonderful couple meet. They are perfect for each other and they are now happy as husband and wife. Thank you!

I thought we'd get along great!

I met my fiance on lds mingle after only being on the site for only a few months. I started as a way to meet and get to know new people, since I was still very new to my area. I got a "smile" from him, and I was excited (as I was always excited to see someone smiling at me!), and when I read his profile, I thought we'd get along great! And as it turns out, we get along AMAZINGLY!! He's perfect for me, and I coudln't be happier!!! We are getting married in October, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!! (That lucky guy!!!) :)

Thanks Mingle!!!

Love Katie

We were married August 19, 2006.

Dear Mingle,

I have met my match and we were married August 19, 2006. We were matched by your service and another that we both subscribed to.

Thank you for your help. My husband, Marc, is a most wonderful guy. He met every desire I had on my wish list and we are delightfully happy.

Thanks again,
Peggy (aka Sierra Sweetheart)

You just can't argue with God.

He was the first person I ever really started talking to on LDSMingles. We became instant friends and continued to talk, never really considering actually meeting. Finally about a year and a half later, he came up to my area with his family to take his sister to EFY and to see his, at the time, girlfriend. He came up to my work, because I work at a fireworks store, so there was no way I was getting out of there at the beginning of July. Later that week me and a friend of mine went to Salt Lake to meet up with him and his family to go to lunch and the Joseph Smith movie. Then over labor day weekend I finally got the guts to buy a plane ticket myself and go down and stay with him for a couple of days. Neither of us were expecting anything to come out of the visit, but we ended up falling madly in love with each other. To this day, neither of us can even explain it, all we know is that you just can't argue with God.

We are happily married.

Kim & I met here on LDS Mingles in January of 2006 and were married May 19, 2006. We "clicked" almost as instantly as I clicked to respond to his first instant message! We are happily married. I'm sure we would not have met if not for this site. Thank you! And to all you who haven't "clicked" with that special someone yet, be patient and "wait on the Lord".
